Ohio State students Craig Pavlich, Eric Schacht, Kerem Bayar, and John Kruckenberg along with faculty advisor Dr. Shawn Midlam-Mohler are attending the ChallengeX Fall Workshop in Natick, MA this week, September 13-16. Major topics discussed include competition rules, recommended practices, and outreach and technical training.
The first day kick-off at the MathWorks campus began with introductions to the rules and logistics of the Year 4 road rallies for 2007-2008. Vehicle reliability, noise, and vibration, consumer acceptability, vehicle drivability, and high voltage technical presentations were given in parallel with outreach presentations on promotional materials and interview skills.
Today, on the second day of the workshop, more specific technical presentations about Year 3 competition results and expected changes for the future. On road emissions tests, control strategy management, CAN network concepts, hydrogen safety, marketing and interviewing concepts were emphasized.
There are two more days of this workshop before we return to OSU and begin autumn quarter classes. We have work to do.
