The floorpan has been modeled and analyzed in Unigraphics NX 3.0.
We did this in order to show that we could cut a hole in it and mount
the motor and still retain the structural integrity of the
vehicle. The report shows that the hole itself decreases the
floor rigidity by 8-9%, but after our mounting bracket was implemented
the overall rigidity of the floor increased by 25-30%. We will send a waiver request to GM shortly so we can mount the rear traction motor.
