Our team leaders traveled to GM University in Auburn
Hills, Michigan yesterday evening to attend the Challenge X fall
workshop. Day one of the workshop started with introductions
of key GM, Department of Energy, and Argonne National Labs
Challenge X organizers.
Most of the day was occupied with presentations by
various speakers pertaining to the year two competition to be held in
Mesa, Arizona next June. Topics covered included Team Roles &
Key Deliverables, Vehicle Shipping, Competition Schedule & Overview
of Qualifying Events. Following these presentations, event captains
presented more in depth on the AVL DRIVE, On Road Emissions, On Road
Energy Use, Traction Control, Trailer Towing, and Vehicle Development
Review events.
In the afternoon, the group was able to tour the
south campus of the GM Technical Center. After a short bus ride we then
arrived at the GM Heritage Center for a walking dinner. The heritage
center is a showplace of many of the vehicles from General Motors'
History. Here are some pictures of some of our favorites.
