Publication by team member Kerem Koprubasi of the Ohio State University Challenge X team, March 2007

ABSTRACT: The Ohio State University students designed and built a power-split hybrid-electric vehicle (HEV) by re-engineering a mid-sized sport utility vehicle (SUV) provided by the General Motors Corporation® as part of the Challenge-X vehicle development competition. The Ohio State team uses the MicroAutoBox as the primary vehicle control unit to perform fundamental hybrid powertrain operations such as energy optimization, battery charge control, engine start-stop, drivability control, electric traction control, and regenerative braking.
